Is this course suitable for my child’s age? What if they have no previous experience? Will they join a new or existing group?

Yes! We place children by age and experience level: - Visual Programming (VP): Ages 7–11 - Python: Ages 12–16 - Robotics & Game Design: Mixed ages, grouped by skill Most children start with no prior experience — our curriculum begins with beginner-friendly lessons. Depending on your preferred schedule, your child can join either a new group (starting from lesson 1) or an existing group. To ensure the right placement, we always offer a free trial lesson.

Is 90 minutes too long for younger children? Can parents stay during the lesson?

The 90-minute format works very well because it incorporates short breaks, hands-on tasks, and interactive activities that keep children engaged. Children concentrate better without parents in the room, but you are welcome to arrive a little early — we will happily show you the project built during the day.

What language is used for instruction?

All regular courses are taught in German, and all instructors also speak English. If your child needs support in English, we are very happy to assist.

Can my child switch from Visual Programming to Python?

Yes — children can switch from Visual Programming to Python as soon as they are ready. Parents receive weekly updates, progress reports, and project files, which help determine the right transition point together with the teachers.

Can we start on a monthly basis? What happens if my child does not enjoy the course? Are sibling discounts available? What is included in the price?

Python Programming Course for Teens (12+) in Berlin

AI can generate code, but children still need the judgement to structure problems, test ideas and build reliable solutions. Python develops genuine programming fluency through algorithms, object-oriented thinking, game development and independent project work.

What your child will learn

Solve real problems using Python and an iterative approach
Understand algorithms, functions, modules and object-oriented programming

Course content

Module 1. Language Basics

Getting started with input and output, variables and numeric data types, strings, and nested structures.

Module 2. Control Structures

Boolean logic and conditions, nested and multi-branch conditions, while and counting loops, and nested algorithmic structures.

Module 3. Functions and Modules

Creating functions, local and global scope, functions within functions, using standard-library modules, and creating and connecting your own.

Module 4. Turtle + Developer Mathematics

The Turtle graphical executor, movement mathematics, conditions and geometric shapes, loops and polygons, and a project lesson.

Module 5. Object-Oriented Programming

Objects, fields and methods, mouse and keyboard events, classes and constructors, and inheritance from existing or your own classes.

Module 6. PyGame Development

Sprites and the game loop, lists and list methods, iteration with for loops, handling in-game events, and game physics.

Module 7. Hackathon Series

A developer skills workshop plus the TestIT, Simple Paint and Grow Up hackathons. Graduation consolidates what was learned through play and a final project presentation.

Learning environment

Age: Recommended for teenagers aged 12 and above.
Group size: Small learning groups for a personal and supportive learning experience.
Format: In-person teaching in Berlin, with project-based work from the first lesson.
Duration: The course runs over 8 months, with one 90-minute lesson per week — two 45-minute teaching units.
